Privacy Policy

Glint is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. We collect only what's necessary to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we never show you ads.
Who we are
Glint is an independent app developed by Elijah Whitenack. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at GlintStudioSupport@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect only what's needed to provide the service:
- Captures you create — the titles, notes, and return dates you enter into Glint. These are stored locally on your device and, if you create an account, synced to our secure cloud.
- Email address — only if you choose to create an account for cloud backup. We use this solely to verify your identity and send account-related emails.
- Anonymous session ID — a randomly generated ID assigned when you first open the app. This lets the app work without requiring an account.
- Basic usage data — we do not collect analytics, crash reports with personal information, or behavioral tracking.
What we don't collect
- We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personal identifiers beyond your email (if you create an account).
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not read the content of your captures for any purpose other than displaying them to you.
How your data is stored
Your captures are stored locally on your device using SQLite. If you create an account, your data is also synced to Supabase — a secure, SOC 2 compliant cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest.
Anonymous users' data is stored locally only. Creating an account is always optional.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to provide the Glint service:
- To display your captures in the app
- To sync your captures across devices if you have an account
- To send account verification emails (OTP codes)
We do not use your data to train machine learning models or for any purpose beyond providing the app.
Your rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete your account — available in Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data from our servers.
- Export your data — we are working on a data export feature. In the meantime, contact us and we'll help.
- Opt out — you can use Glint entirely without an account. No data ever leaves your device unless you choose to create one.
Third-party services
Glint uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — cloud database and authentication provider. Data stored with Supabase is subject to their privacy policy.
- Resend — transactional email provider used to send OTP verification codes. Only your email address is shared with Resend for this purpose.
Children's privacy
Glint is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify users through the app where appropriate.
